SEUSSICAL

Working on Seussical was as much of an adventure as the story itself, and I mean that in the best way. Anne brought a strong concept for the show to our first meeting--the cast would tell the story as if they were kids playing pretend on the playground. For scenic, that meant building worlds through found objects--things we don't often find interesting, but a kid might turn into something entirely new. For lighting, that meant I had all the freedom to play. We discussed how each world had to be very clear, especially since we go through so many throughout the span of the show!
