PAGEANT

Forestburgh Playhouse

a musical by Bill Russell and Frank Kelly

Director: Roque Berlanga
Scenic Designer: Steven Velasquez
Lighting Designer: Abbey Lynn Smith

Costume Designer: Mark Sorenson

Pageant the Musical was an all-around good time. Roque, Steven, & I met virtually early on and began discussing our hopes and dreams for the show. Roque emphasized our biggest hurdle--making this glamorous show happen in a theatre space that used to be a barn. I researched pageant lighting and Steven brought back this wonderful set, which helped to cover the wooden architecture, but also created a playground for me as a lighting designer. My favorite part of the show was the Talent Section--where each contestant had the chance to shine and I got to personalize a look that showed them off.
